The Motorola Droid Multimedia Station has a fatal flaw. On the bright light setting, the light is too bright to use at night when sleeping. On the dim light setting, the light is too dim to read the time at night. Actually, the problem is not that the light is too dim; instead, the problem is that the Motorola engineers seem not to have looked at the Droid in the middle of the night. They created a fancy wallpaper behind the numbers, and then made the color of the numbers very similar to the fancy wallpaper. So there is not enough contrast. What is needed is completely black wallpaper (i. e. a black background) with completely white (but dimly lit) numbers with very crisp, clear outlines. As it is right now, the Multimedia Station is unusable at night; traditional digital clock alarms do a much better job.

I've a moderate tolerance for flat-footed prose, but I didn't get far with this before I had to give it up. Possibly it has compensating virtues: I don't care. Apparently the consensus about Theodore Dreiser, by the bye, is something like this:"Dreiser is not a particularly good writer. His sentences can be clunky, truncated and fragmented. His language is stilted and awkward at times. He has no ear for writing dialogue. But these technical limitations are more than offset by Dreiser's incredible insight into the interior lives of his characters. " Still I'd be very surprised (I've not read him) to find his novels nearly as badly written as "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" (It seems to me, for that matter, that prose approaches poetry when it is especially felicitous, not when it is especially awkward and inept. )

This is a really cool idea, adds great functionality to an already cool phone. However, (here it comes) they fail to mention that it will not fit in the dock if you have a protective case on the phone. The dimensions are just a little to small to hold it if the phone is in a case. I am going to try and use a dremel and widen it out a little, but if you don't own a dremel or a droid don't worry about it.

This is one of the very rare cases where first there is a book that becomes a movie; and then this movie is so much better than the book. Normaly it's the reverse (however this rule generally does not apply to books written to appear as additional merchandise with the new blockbuster). The movie (that thankfully did stray very far from this book) is "Blade Runner" - one of my all-time favorites. Maybe even the best scifi-movie ever. But the book . . . . . OK, I don't really like Dick. But still, this book is a low even for him. So take my advise: dump it, but get the movie ASAP!

Here's the thing: Rick Deckard is an android. Whether Philip K. Dick thinks he is an android is irrelevant. Deckard is an android, and the other androids do not deserve to be "retired" just like no human being deserves to be "retired". Androids DO dream of electric sheep, and this was an okay book, although I would have liked to learn more about Mercerism, because the conclusion that Deckard comes to is one of the most dissatisfying conclusions to anything I've ever read. They are all androids, with the exception of Iran, Isidore, and a few other minor characters. Deckard is a ruthless android who kills other androids and dreams of owning a live animal. I didn't really like the book, but this stuff is fun to think about. Again, it is irrelevant if Philip K. Dick thinks Deckard is an android, because what one person thinks about another person doesn't change their identity.

Fits perfectly, looks great, feels great. It does feel perhaps a bit too slick, as though it might slip out of my hand if I am not careful--which has likely caused me to be more careful.

I've dropped my phone once with this case on. Both halves of the case popped off as soon as the phone hit the ground, and the phone proceeded to bounce around unprotected on the pavement. So my plan to have a completely undamaged phone by putting it in a case from day one is now foiled. It saved the phone from the initial impact, but failed to completely protect it.

The case is in my desk drawer now--I probably won't use it again.

I bought 2 of these cases, one for my daughter and one for me (for "our buy one get one free" Droids). The case I gave her fit properly but my top case cover portion would not attach at all. I'm returning mine and not bothering with a replacement. . . 50/50 product quality is worse than bad odds. The other reviews made me hopeful but I wouldn't recommend this case at all.

We are told below that this "one of the best books ever written by man", comparable presumably, then, to The Odyssey, The Bible, Canterbury Tales, Hamlet, Don Quixote, Walden, Critique of Pure Reason, The Sun Also Rises, and The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Let's assume, however, out of hand, for the sake of argument, that it really is "one of the best books ever written by man": How does it compare to the best books written ever by rooster, drake, or bull (speaking of bull)? What? Was its author awarded the Nobel Prize in Quasi-literate B Science-fiction Pulp? Is this a new category? Let's assume, however, out of hand, for the sake of argument, that it really is worthy of a Nobel Prize in Quasi-literate B Science-fiction Pulp: Wouldn't you still rather read the back of your box of Fruit Loops? (Or, for the that matter, the side panel listing ingredients?) I know I would -- that is, if I actually ate Fruit Loops.

Essentially this is a $40 weighted plastic base with a USB extension cord and a magnet in it so the Droid will go into dock-mode. Being that it doesn't have any sort of other media connections other than USB, I'd hardly call it multimedia - In fact I consider it fase advertising. I'd happily pay $15-25 for this, but after spending $40, I'm completely disappointed.

My original iphone came with a comparable dock in the box - not at an extra cost - and a replacement was only $25. If you spent $40 you could get a dock with audio-out and a wireless remote control - that's right, just dock your phone to play audio out your stereo, no extra step to plug in a cable. Not that I'm complaining about plugging in a cable, but would expect more than a cheap hunk of plastic for $40.

This "Multimedia" dock is not worth the cost.

Love my Droid, this Dock was a waste of money.

The Seido case is slim, well made (no rough edges), and fits better than the other cases I've seen for the Droid. Is it perfect? No. One corner of my slider (screen side of the Droid) sits a bit unevenly most of the time and will occasionally pop off. Still, it's at a rate much lower than the alternatives I've seen.
